In shop rebuilds of all Muncie , T-10, AMC T-10 & Saginaw transmissions. All cases are cleaned to return them to their original appearance. They are inspected and repaired if neccessary. Countershafts are pin fitted and thrusts redone as needed. All speed gears, inputs, counters and sliders are inspected and upgraded as needed. The end result is a quality transmission that comes with a Full One Year warranty under normal driving conditions, that you will be proud to display and will enjoy using. We can also rebuild your 3 Speed, 4 Speed and your 5 & 6 Speed Manual transmissions, Foreign & Domestic. Crating - All Transmissions are crated up in a solid handmade wooden box for a $25.00 charge - To ensure safe delivery from our place to yours.

Core Cost - Exchange core cost of up to $350.00. Send your old core in the original shipping crate back to us and after an assessment of core value we will refund appropriate amount up to $350.00, depending on condition of core. The core must have a usable case, usable mainshaft, input and cluster to receive the full core refund. If you have any questions, call for more information.

Warranty - PLEASE READ BEFORE INSTALLATION Garage Motorsports warranty is 1 year from the date of purchase to the original purchaser. We take pride in the new and rebuilt units we sell and take every precaution to ensure that every unit we sell is trouble free. Should there be a problem with a unit, Garagemotorsports will send a replacement transmission or repair the defective one, whichever we choose. All units are shipped dry. Please refer to owner's manual or dealer specification for proper lube. Warranty is void if incorrect lube is used. If you have any questions, please call. We recommend using 70-90 or 80-90 GL4 or GL5 lube for Muncie and T10 Transmissions. Warranty on rebuilt units will be void if the unit is returned “burned up”. It is the customers' responsibility to be aware of leaks and get them taken care of before melt down occurs. Leaks are covered under warranty, burned up transmissions are not. Rebuilt units with broken gears are covered under warranty if it looks as though they were defective in some way, or if the unit was assembled improperly. Units with broken gears due to abuse are not covered under warranty. Warranty unit must be returned with prior approval and inspected before claim will be paid. A 20% restock fee may be inposed on all retuned items. . Shipping charges are non refundable on special order transmissions. .

Reading Serial and VIN Numbers

Muncie 4 speed serial numbers begin with the letter "P". The serial number is a date code. The code will tell you which particular year the transmission was built for.
Serial numbers from 1963 to 1966 included only the month and day. P0101 would indicate January 1st.
In 1967 and 1968 the serial number got a year designator and a letter designator for the month such as P8A01, meaning January 1st 1968.
If you have a Muncie dated with a December build date it was actually built the prior year. An example would be the date code P8T13. The T stands for December and 13 is the day. This is for a 1968 production car. This means the Muncie was assembled December 13, 1967 for the 1968 model year. To confirm this simply look at the VIN number. It will usually begin with a 18S101350 or a 28N12950. The VIN number will usually be a low number.
1969 to 1974 Muncies got a ratio designator at the end of the serial number. An example would be P4D23B. This equates to April 23, 1974, M21 ratio.
